Following a major reduction of its skilled nursing portfolio, ProMedica is restructuring the leadership of its senior care division.
The Toledo, OH, not-for-profit organization announced on April 5 that it was shuffling three executives from within the company.
The changes include the promotion of Angela Brandt, who until recently served as president of ProMedica Senior Care and was previously president of ProMedica Physicians Group.
Brandt is now chief administrative officer of the larger company and will oversee information technology, supply chain, strategy, marketing, external affairs and process improvement. She will also serve as the lead for the shared services council, ProMedica said.
Meanwhile, Justin Skiver moves up to become the senior care division’s president and a member of the executive senior team; he had been the division’s chief financial officer and chief strategy officer since 2022.
Finally, Luke Pile is now chief operating officer of the senior care division. He previously served as ProMedica’s skilled nursing senior vice president.
ProMedica in November announced it would make a near-complete exit from the skilled nursing sector, calling its departure from a 147-facility joint venture with Welltower a way to resolve “ongoing operating losses within its Senior Care Division. cornerstone of a planned financial turnaround.
At the time, ProMedica told McKnight’s Long-Term Care News it would continue to operate 10 skilled nursing facilities that were not part of the Welltower transaction. Those include leased senior care centers in Adrian and Monroe, MI, and the skilled nursing and memory care facilities located on the ProMedica Flower Hospital campus in Sylvania, OH.
ProMedica’s Senior Care Division also maintains 58 private-pay assisted living and memory care communities under a lease backed by the existing guaranty, McKnight’s Senior Living reported.
