Denise Curry has been appointed chief operations officer of Guardian Healthcare, operator of 35 skilled nursing facilities in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Working closely with Guardian’s subject matter experts and site leaders, Curry will focus on advancing the company’s transition to a model that emphasizes localized decision-making.
Curry started her career as a CNA, advancing to administrator positions in Florida and Pennsylvania prior to taking on operations and leadership positions with multi-facility organizations. She served as a regional vice president at Golden Living and later as vice president of operations for ManorCare and ProMedica.
Among her many accomplishments was assisting facility teams in earning American Health Care Association Baldrige quality awards.
Curry graduated with a bachelor of science in healthcare administration from Slippery Rock University. While attending college, she worked part time in a skilled nursing center.
Guardian Healthcare began moving away from a traditional, centralized model in late 2022 seeking to forge stronger partnerships with referral sources and attract new talent.
“As post-acute providers, we must be nimble with the emerging and ever-present challenges in our industry,” Curry said. “I am certainly honored to be working alongside a committed group of executives.”
